General Counsel Job Description
• Provide legal support and advice to senior management on important legal issues
• Ensure compliance with the internal controls, statutory regulations and other formalities
• Calculate and handle risks in business process and decision making
• Draft legal papers such as contracts, statements, agreements etc
• Execute procedures for safeguarding patents, trademarks, and industrial designs
• Keeping up with current developments on all key areas of legislation and contributing to the enhancement of the knowledge base of the company’s legal function
• Specifying internal governance policies and frequently monitoring compliance
Legal Counsel Skills
• Require bachelor's degree in Law or similar field
• Analytical and hands-on legal skills with an emphasis on corporate law
• Who has strong communication skills (verbal and written) as well as an ability to compile data and use databases in an organised manner
